As part of a major redevelopment the infant and junior schools were combined in a new building which also incorporated a children's centre. There was a large inner quad that would be used by all age groups.
The scheme included a separate fenced off area for the smaller children with a Wicksteed Tom Thumb play unit and wet pour safety surface. The rest of the space included a track for wheeled toys, a quiet area with pergola, planters and artificial grass surface, an Asgard secure shed and a ship themed play structure.
There were also thermoplastic line markings in the form of hopscotch, number ladder and alphabet snake. Some of the walls around the quad were used to mount play panels.
